Well done everyone who sang with us at Kingston Carnival on Sunday 6th September - some nice pics of us on stage in the Photo Album (in the left hand menu), and some compliments below:
Dominic: "I thought it was brilliant! Everyone rose to the challenge and performed with energy and enthusiam. Despite the fact we were battling with other sources of sound, I think the audience was with us.
Afterwards some members commented to me that they were very nervous beforehand because they had never performed before in any capacity. It felt great to be giving people the opportunity to get up on stage and sing, with no previous experience.
And yes - clapping and singing & swaying all worked a treat!"
Audience member on our waiting list: "I came to the Market Place yesterday to watch you singing and was very impressed by your performance above the noise of the Carnival."
Veronica Attah, Vice-Chair, Global Arts Kingston - to all Carnival participants: "Wow! How fabulous were you all on Sunday?! Although I was not able to see all the performances this year, I've heard nothing but good things, with everyone saying how fantastic everything was; from the parade to the performances on both stages (and this year we were also able to have community input to the main Guildhall stage, thanks to the stunning Gujarati School/Kingston College fashion show).
On behalf of Global Arts, I'd like to thank you all very much for the hard work you put into providing such a fantastic show, which really paid off. You will be pleased to know that I was even told today that our Kingston Carnival was better than the Notting Hill one - which is all thanks to each and every one of you!
Thank you, once again and well done to everyone."
