Our Plans - As we enter a new year we also enter what we hope to be a year packed full of activities for our children, their siblings and their families. We are as a priority now actively seeking funding to enable us to offer a much greater number of events and undertakings. However as we are all aware funds are short and not guaranteed so our fundraising activities now require your support more than at any other time.

Fundraising – WE ALWAYS WELCOME DONATIONS FOR A HAMPER WINE/CHOCHOLATES/ETC, but most of all we need you to sell tickets for our fund raising events. You don’t have to come yourself but if we don’t sell tickets we don’t make money. If we don’t make money we cannot provide any activities for you and your families. So far we have not received any raffle donations and very little support for fundraising activities. Without support we cannot raise money and without money obviously we cannot provide activities for anyone. Please support DAISY Lincs or you may find that it is unable to support you.

Regular Activities - From February 2nd DAISY Lincs is funding fortnightly activities for children and siblings. Exclusive sessions will be offered to all children registered on the DAISY Lincs membership forms. (Please ensure on you Annual renewal forms that all you children are listed with ages.) These activities will be offered for a trial period of 12 fortnightly sessions staggered over 24 weeks. Scunthorpe United are providing trained staff to supervise our children and medical history forms will need to be completed by anyone who did not access Scunthorpe United short break activities before. The cost for each children per session will be £2 each.

Activity Club - Starting on Thursday 2nd February 2012 from 5.30pm to 7.30pm a ‘Activity club’ at Glanford Park offering dance, wii, computer activities, outside activities (weather permitting) to our children and their siblings.

DANDILIONS - Starting on Thursday 16th February 2012 from 6.30pm to 8.30pm a private session will be offered to all children including siblings

Thursday 10th May

Disability Wheelchair Sports – On Sunday mornings from 11am to 1pm at The Pods at a cost of £3.80 per person. I have to say that both Jack and Jaimie attended the taster session and what a great leveller this idea is for an able bodied person to be strapped into a sports wheelchair and to use muscles never used before. Both had a really good time but very few people turned up and they need more bodies to make it viable. Think about it even if your children are able bodied this is for any age any ability and super fun.

DATES FOR YOUR DIARY

Race Night – We will be staging a race night as an alternative fundraiser. The date and venue are confirmed as 7.30pm Saturday 25th February 2012 at Keadby Club, Station Road, Keadby. These tickets are available from Kaleidoscope or contact any committee member for further details. First race is 8pm.

This is usually a really good night out and one of our key fundraisers. In view of this and to encourage more people to attend we have made the ‘black tie’ optional and just ask for shirt and ties although we appreciate that by the end of the evening ties usually are abandoned anyway. Details are attached, you don’t have to fill a table, there are always tables for DAISY Lincs members to sit together.

Saturday 16th June 2012 - Return coach travel to Meadow Court Greyhound Stadium in Doncaster with a Hot and cold buffet served in a private suite. Watch the dog racing and then join the locals downstairs for a disco or a quiet coffee! Places are limited to DAISY Lincs members only and all must be 18 years & above. Places will be available for each disabled child along with a place for one carer per family. A coach will be provided. Should any places remain unfilled they will be offered to older siblings. Further details and booking forms will follow. This day will include sessions on the quads, rope climbing, high ropes so is physically challenging. Transport will be provided.

All details will be circulated on your newsletters so keep your eyes open. As soon as any trips/ events are confirmed you will be informed. We will start to look for funding for day activities in the other school holidays and we will keep you updated.
