Description
The Village Hall is situated in the centre of the Village of Burton upon Stather (five miles north of Scunthorpe) and just off the Village High Street. It was inaugurated in 1936 by Sir Berkley Sheffield. The Hall was built as an extension to the Old Reading Room/Library which now forms the Green Room. There is seating in the Main Hall to a capacity of 120-150 persons There is a sprung Maple dance floor, a well equipped stage with adequate theatre lighting and sound equipment and separate dressing rooms. Off the Main Hall is a small, but fully equipped kitchen and server and there is a small garden to the rear of the Hall, where a reception marquee could be erected. An electronic piano is available upon request.
The Village Hall is owned by the Parish and run by a Management Committee. We are registered as a Charity and all the proceeds from hiring the Hall goes towards its maintenance and upkeep. Further information can be obtained from the General Secretary or the Booking Secretary whose contact details may be found on a later page, which also shows the hire rates.
