History

Denis Brelu-Brelu was the founder of a photographic group we had been attending in Scunthorpe. He formed the group to help local people get to grips with their new digital cameras. Sadly, on the 11th November 2007 Denis died suddenly. Shortly after his death it was decided to continue with the group in his name and memory so on the 30th November 2007 The Brelu-Brelu Photographic Group was formed.

In February of 2008 we applied for an Awards For All Lottery Grant and in June we received from them a Grant to enable us to purchase various items of equipment including laptops and software, projectors, cameras, backdrops and lighting equipment, for us all to use.

In February of 2009 we became affiliated to the North & East Midlands Photographic Federation  (N&EMPF) in order to submit our photographs into their competitions.

In our meetings at Redbourn Club Junior football pavilion on Cemetery road , discussions include the various aspects of digital photography, lighting and demonstrations of mounting photographs viewing each others photographs via a laptop and projector. We sometimes have models to sit for us, other times; interesting items and objects are our "focus". Encouragement, help and guidance are always available. Members own favourite topics, be it, pets, family, holidays are always appreciated.

The Group, individually and on a collective basis have had many forays into the local area photographing the flora and fauna and other subjects that caught the eye.

Meetings are held at the Address below on Friday between 11:00am to 1:00pm
