Activities

Monthly Meetings: Association meetings are held on the second Monday of every month at the Humberside Federation of Womens Institute (HFWI), 10 Queen Street, Brigg, commencing at 7.30pm.

Meetings cover a wide range of subjects and are generally lively affairs. Newcomers to the craft can gain valuable information and guidance on all aspects of beekeeping, there is always something of interest for the experienced beekeeper too.

Apiary Meetings: Occasional meetings are held at a member's apiary or home during the summer months. Whilst Beekeeping is the main purpose of the gathering it is also an opportunity to catch up on the latest beekeeping news and socialise with other members.

Speakers: We occasionally engage expert speakers who give us guidance on a wide range of beekeeping topics, queen rearing, honey presentation etc.

Competitions: Several competitions are held throughout the year culminating in the Honey Show. Fierce but friendly competition takes place in pursuit of the trophies.
