  • Verbal Warning
  • 1st Written Warning

  • 3rd & Final Warning – Parents are contacted in order to discuss the situation with a senior member of staff and the parents are informed about the options available, should the student continue in the same vain.

Promoting and Rewarding Good Behaviour

Most of the young people referred to Future First are, badly behaved, demotivated, lacking in self esteem and self confidence, extremely bored. Their attention span is very short, requiring new challenges to keep them engaged to subsequently progress and succeed.

A very simple idea which we call ‘WizKid’ has transformed the behaviour, attitudes, motivation and results of our students. We have created a ‘Point Scoring’ system based on:

  • Daily attendance and punctuality
  • Specific aspects of behaviour
  • Academia, on going formative assessment, which are held as an aid to recall the lessons of the week and key skills subjects.

Bullying

Future First is committed to providing a caring, friendly and safe environment for all of our pupils so they can learn in a relaxed and secure atmosphere. Bullying of any kind is unacceptable at our school. If bullying does occur, all pupils should be able to tell and know that incidents will be dealt with promptly and effectively. We are a telling school. This means that everyone who knows that bullying is happening is expected to tell the staff.

Equal Opportunities

Future First recognises that everyone has a contribution to make to society and a right to equal treatment.  It is our policy to ensure that no one receives less favourable treatment on the grounds of race, colour, nationality, sex, marital status, disability, sexual orientation, religion or is disadvantaged by conditions or requirements which cannot be shown to be justified.
