Child Protection
Future First is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The provisions recruitment and selection procedures comply with national and local guidance and all staff and volunteers are cleared through the Criminal Records Bureau. It is the duty of all adults working at Future First to be alert to the danger of child abuse. The law is very clear in its expectations of adults in their work with children and young people.

Health and Safety
A tour of the premises for all students is first on the agenda, highlighting aspects of health and safety around the building including a detailed explanation of: The designated health and fire safety officer is: Mohammed Majid Disciplinary Procedure Promoting and Rewarding Good Behaviour Most of the young people referred to Future First are, badly behaved, demotivated, lacking in self esteem and self confidence, extremely bored. Their attention span is very short, requiring new challenges to keep them engaged to subsequently progress and succeed. A very simple idea which we call ‘WizKid’ has transformed the behaviour, attitudes, motivation and results of our students. We have created a ‘Point Scoring’ system based on: Bullying Future First is committed to providing a caring, friendly and safe environment for all of our pupils so they can learn in a relaxed and secure atmosphere. Bullying of any kind is unacceptable at our school. If bullying does occur, all pupils should be able to tell and know that incidents will be dealt with promptly and effectively. We are a telling school. This means that everyone who knows that bullying is happening is expected to tell the staff.
