1. Information requirement

Most of the issues in relation to the 12 needs to Independent Living; housing, employment, direct payments, and personal assistants rely on the fact that disabled people can access information about what they are entitled to. Without information there is no informed choice and preserving the flow of accurate, relevant, accessible information is one of the key roles of Centres for Independent Living. The information should also be value-free or non judgemental, even if that means not using informational that is inappropriate in its bias.
