News - or History in the making!

Today's News is Tomorrow's History!

No excuses for stating the obvious; but what is a history conservation society for?

Its first priority is to unearth and preserve facts and stories from the past - and maybe a few myths along the way!

But it also has a reponsibility to record present events for future generations:  that'll be their history.

Had not our forebears taken the trouble to record the events of their time - then history would

not just be forgotten, but seemingly never existed.  

History is not dead.  History is happening all the time. 

History is not just about great events.  It is also about the ordinary day to day events which shape history.

It may be that the News Pages which follow will in due course help shape the  pages in history - or at least footnotes.
