Committee

The Committee of ARC currently consists:

Chair

Jim Millard

Bio
I have lived in Addison Road since April 2012 and have two young children. I am very interested in helping our residents group apply for funding to rebuild the play area and football cage to the highest possible standard and to get funding for, and organise, other projects that will benefit the estate, such as regular social events, getting older people involved in the community, sports coaching for kids etc. I have got experience of chairing committees on a voluntary basis as well as applying for funding and liaising with the council on planning issues.

Vice Chair

Sarah Page

Bio
I’ve lived in Addison Road for 10 years and in the borough most of my life. I love our estate, especially the green and the play area, because they’re precious nowadays when land keeps being built upon. The landscaping of the play area is well thought through but it is a concern that the maintenance of the football cage appears to have been neglected. I’m keen to help secure funding for the facilities to be restored - at least- but even better improved into a more modern space that provides for the diverse needs of all our residents, whatever their age and gender.

I would like to work with others in our community to campaign for resourcing to make improvements that we can all enjoy now and into the future. In particular, I’m keen to make sure that we do this with the support of every street in our estate behind us

Secretary (role share)

Helen Woodman

Bio
I have been resident In Hawkins Road for 17 years my son who is now 19 played in the park for many happy years particularly making use of the ball park. I always found it reassuring in the early teen years that he was getting lots of fresh air, having independent fun but I was aware of where he was. I have 2 younger children who play in the playground almost daily and I would like them to use it as much as their big brother did.

The playground, the green spaces and the ball park are a fundamental part of our estate for all our children and I would love to see it developed as a more attractive area which could be used by all residents regardless of their age making the whole area more inclusive and not just for us mums and children.

Rebecca Rowe

Bio
I’m a single mother of 2 children with a great interest in the local playground and green spaces for our community and would be pleased to apply for the position of secretary. Both my children attended Collis Primary School and Teddington Secondary School with my eldest now attending Richmond College. I lived on a small council block of flats on Harlequin Rd, off Fairfax Rd for 12 years, I then moved to Addison Road 3 years ago. My house is right in front of the playground which all the local mums use as a meeting point whilst the children play. Having a teenage son I feel rebuilding the football cage would really benefit the children living here. With the playground in dire need of updating and the local green spaces landscaped, lots could be done to achieve eye-pleasing, safe and good quality play areas for our children. Feel this could really transform the area for the local children and community.

I have had previous experience working for EML Installations Ltd, as secretary and office manager. My duties included booking appointments, dealing with clients, payroll, managing a team of 20 electricians and arranging and booking meetings and taking minutes. I have good organisation skills, polite and enjoy working as part of a team. Also, I have a great interest in the project the group is embarking on!

Events Officer/s

Christa Andreous and Rachel Lawton

Bio
Christa - I grew up on the estate so spent many happy hours in the park as did my 3 oldest. My youngest boy still plays out in the park and is very keen to get back in the ball park!

Rachel – I have lived here for 19 years and also have children who grew up playing in the playground. I’m also keen to see the area developed as my flat overlooks the area and the ball park as it is unsightly.
