Kingston Racial Equality Council (KREC)

Kingston Racial Equality Council (KREC) is a multi-racial, multi-cultural organisation co-ordinating the focus on racial harassment and racial justice. We aim to work towards the elimination of racial discrimination and to promote equality of opportunities and good relations between persons of different racial groups in the Royal Borough of Kingston.

Our client group consists of black and other ethnic minorties and we provide our services to anyone living or working in the Royal Borough of Kingston. We however give priority to people experiencing racial harassment or racial discrimination.

We facilitate negotiations and provide information and advice to our clients on issues such as discrimination at work, women's issues, immigration issues, education and many more.

Clients can access our services by telephone and letter and they can also book appointments by calling us on 020 8547 2332.

PARTNERSHIP WORK - At present, funding is received from the Local Council and the Commission for Racial Equality, however, we will be interested in putting in a shared funding bid with other voluntary agencies in Kingston if it relates to issues of discrimination and racial harrasment or educating people about cultural diversity.

STAFF - We have three paid staff and we are still looking for more volunteers who will work within our agency
